In a fast-changing, fast-moving world, keeping a company successful for more than half a century is a rare achievement that requires skill and dedication. L. & M. Precision Products is still going strong in its 56th year. That is more than half a century of producing and supplying high-quality precision machine components for generations of satisfied clients.

Today, L. & M. Precision Products owns a 50,000-square-foot facility and employs more than 70 skilled workers and managers. But it was not always like that. Every successful business has to start somewhere.

A continuous company expansion

It all began in 1962, when two Toronto entrepreneurs named Ralph E. Lake and Mike Mahoney launched a new entity called L. & M. Screw Machine Products Ltd. This humble company employed only 20 people in a small facility in North York. Yet as its reputation grew for quality machine components and customer service, the company also grew.

By 1977, L. & M. had expanded its capabilities, machine inventory, and workforce so much that it had to move to a bigger building. Fortunately, there was one down the street on Milvan Drive. But the expansion continued over the years due to continued success and rising reputation, until the company decided to renovate three separate Milvan buildings into one large, fully structured facility in 2000. That was when the company was renamed L. & M. Precision Products, and it remains at this location at 150 Milvan today.

So what has given L. & M. such longevity? Its dedication to high quality, for one. L. & M. workers always commit themselves to improving process efficiency in a cost-effective way. Its quality-control system ensures that precision machine components always meet the highest standards.

The company’s devotion to customer satisfaction is another strong factor that has kept clients coming back and spreading the word for 56 years. No L. & M. product is shipped to any customer until the product quality confirms to the customer’s specifications with assurance.
