L. & M. Precision Products Inc. adheres to a very high standard of quality in the custom machined parts that it provides for customers. To make sure that it never wavers from this high standard, the company has a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program that is managed by an exceptionally well-trained quality-control team.

Client needs always in mind

Using an exceptionally well-controlled process, backed up by calibrated equipment, the L. & M. crew undertakes every project covered by a strong quality policy, which was launched to ensure that client needs are always kept in mind. This policy requires all personnel to commit themselves to boosting process efficiency in a cost-effective way, with customer satisfaction as a focused and constant goal. Management re-evaluates the Quality Assurance Program on a regular basis, aiming for continuous improvement.

The quality-control team uses gauges, hardness testers, optical comparators, and other devices that are calibrated according to NIST standards. In addition, the team uses a Zygo Z-Mike laser micrometer, which currently is the most accurate, non-contact bench-top micrometer available. This collectively allows for a blending of hands-on experience and equipment to comply with all specifications, while sampling plans ensure controls before and during product runs.

L. & M. develops these sampling plans according to ISO standards. The company has had ISO certification for more than 20 years and is currently registered according to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard. An annual surveillance audit makes sure that L. & M. still meets regular ISO re-certification requirements, and this ISO process is re-certified every three years and is always current and up to date.

The quality-control process starts before every L. & M. project and continues through until clients get their custom-machined parts. Every team member at the company is involved in this process at some stage, from upfront estimation through engineering and production to shipping the final product to the customer.
