QC/QC+ easy-assembly centrifugal pumps by Q-Pumps are perfect for food

Canadian manufacturers get the widest selection of pumps from York Fluid Controls, including items by Q-Pumps. This lineup includes the QC/QC+ series of easy-assembly centrifugal pumps for sanitary and non-sanitary tasks. Perfect for food-processing and agrochemical applications, they handle flows of up to 4,542 litres per minute and pressure loads up to 82 metres. This series also works with up to 117 pounds per square inch of pressure.

Meeting strict sanitary standards

The QC+ series is an exclusive design that meets 3-A sanitary standards. A user can convert any of the QC easy-assembly centrifugal pumps into a QC+ version with a Kit plus. The QC+ model facilitates and streamlines the assembly of the QC-series pumps, while offering greater efficiency and better impeller support with a wedge and nut. Both versions can withstand temperatures as high as 120 degrees Celsius and viscosity of 600 centipoise.

Major features of these easy-assembly centrifugal pumps from York Fluid Controls include the following: open impeller; scroll casing with suction in the centre; sanitary finish, according to standards 3-A certified 1004; clamp, flange, NPT, welding, bevel-seat, DIN, and SMS connections; stainless steel support set and legs; and stainless steel adapter. These pumps are constructed according to NEMA and IEC standards and can work in 60 or 50 hertz. All of the parts in contact with the pumps are made from T316L stainless steel.

Two types of external seal are available – a balanced and a stationary one. The “D” type, or balanced seal, suits many uses and has a long lifespan. Relevant applications include dairy products, corn oils, tomato juice, drinks, and water, plus acidic cleaning solutions and detergent. Q-Pumps does not recommend it for abrasive or corrosive products or ones with which drying forms layers.

The “DG” type is a long-lasting, stationary external seal with the standard rotary components of the “D”, plus a stationary element to be chosen from silicon carbide, ceramic, tungsten carbide, and other materials. It can be used with liquid sugar and (with the correct elastomers) abrasive or corrosive materials like acids or caustic soda.
