Q-Pumps easy-assembly centrifugal pumps are available from York Fluid Controls.

Q-Pumps fluid-handling products are available to Canadian businesses through York Fluid Controls Ltd. – including the QC/QC+ series of easy-assembly centrifugal pumps. These two series are designed for sanitary and non-sanitary applications in the food-processing and agrochemical sectors, and they function with pressures of up to 117 pounds per square inch. These pumps can handle flows as high as 4,542 litres per minute, pressure loads up to 82 metres, temperatures up to 120 degrees Celsius, and viscosity up to 600 centipoise.

With various motor options

The QC+ model has an exclusive design that complies with 3-A sanitary standards, and users can easily convert any of the QC pumps into a QC+ version with a Kit plus. The QC+ series from York Fluid Controls facilitates and streamlines the assembly of the QC pumps, and it offers higher efficiency and stronger impeller support with a wedge and a nut.

These pump series include such features as an open impeller, scroll casing with suction in the centre, sanitary finish as per standards 3-A certified 1004, stainless steel support set and legs, stainless steel adapter, and clamp flange, NPT, welding, bevel-seat, DIN, and SMS connections. They are constructed according to NEMA and IEC standards and can operate in 60 or 50 hertz. Among the motor options are TEFC, washdown-duty, chemical-duty, and stainless steel enclosures. All components that contact the pumps are made of T316L stainless steel.

Two types of external seal are available – a balanced or stationary one. The “D” type, or balanced seal, suits many applications and has long life. Relevant tasks include dairy products, corn oils, tomato juice, drinks, and water, plus acidic cleaning solutions and detergent. The seal is not recommended for abrasive or corrosive products or ones with which drying forms layers.

The “DG” seal is a long-lasting, stationary external seal with the standard rotary parts of the “D”, plus a stationary element selected from silicon carbide, ceramic, tungsten carbide, and other materials. It can be used with liquid sugar and, with the appropriate elastomers, abrasive or corrosive material like acid or caustic soda.
