Cords Canada is a proudly Canadian supplier of industrial components. The Toronto-based company has served the industrial marketplace for more than 65 years, offering quality products and superior service to customers across North America and beyond. It continues to be a top choice for many industrial companies thanks to its wide selection, industry knowledge and superior service.

Extensive lineup

Cords prides itself on being the “best source” for industrial fasteners and components in a wide range of materials. It offers an extensive line of products, from spacers, washers, fasteners, plugs and cable ties, to bushings, grommets, screws, nuts, bolts and much more. Almost all of its lines are ISO and RoHS certified.

“We carry literally millions of parts for companies, large and small, in almost every industry, including electrical, electronic, display merchandising, computer, agricultural, furniture, chemical, food processing, white goods, HVAC, hospitals, government, entrepreneurial, and many more,” the company explains.

Cords is the exclusive or prime distributor for many top industrial brands. It is the number one distributor in Canada for the well-known Heyco line of ISO 9001-certified products for the electrical and electronic industries. Cords is also the exclusive Canadian distributor of Associated Plastics twist ties, Euro-matic hollow balls, Thogus tube and hose fittings, StockCap vinyl dip moulded products, and Visipak clamshell packaging.

Industry experience

Cords Canada has deep roots in the industry. The company was founded by Larry Caplan back in 1947 as Canada's premier electric cord manufacturer, and received much recognition for its innovative designs. However, in 1973, Cords sold off its manufacturing facilities so that it could concentrate on distributing and sourcing plastic components. The company says that its “presence in this field has been and continues to be a major contributing factor to the acceptance and use of plastic parts in industry throughout the continent.“

Today, the company is headed by the second generation of the Caplan family.

Services

If a customer does not find what it needs in the company's catalogues, Cords can help by tracking the product down for the customer, or by coming up with an alternative — perhaps inexpensive custom tooling or a referral to another source.

The company works hard to make sure customers get the parts they need, when they need them.

To learn more about the many lines it carries, search the company's catalogues or contact Cords Canada.
