MOCAP’s impressive portfolio of industrial protective products is unlike any other in the North American market, with an enormous selection of caps, grips, masking units, and pipe and flange protectors. Yet another popular offering from the MOCAP lineup is three kinds of protective plug units to suit various user needs.
Customers can satisfy all of their protection, masking, or finishing needs with MOCAP’s families of dip-moulded vinyl plastic plugs, injection-moulded plastic plugs, and rubber-moulded plugs.
Masking against debris, painting, powder
The broad selection includes injection-moulded, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plug caps, sheet-metal plugs, tube-end plugs, vinyl dip-moulded shipping plugs, high-temperature masking plugs, and EPDM and silicone rubber masking plugs. All of these are ideal for product protection during assembly, conversion, or shipping tasks. MOCAP recommends these protective plug units for masking against debris, painting, spraying, or powder coating. These units also help to add a finished quality appearance to sheet-metal or tubing components of products.
There are three basic categories of protective plug units available:
- Friction fit plugs – designed to protect threads and fittings from moisture, contamination, and damage during production, shipping, or storage. Examples include general-purpose plugs, sheet-metal hold plugs, tube plugs, tapered plugs for tubing, barrel plugs, and flexible vinyl plugs.
- Tapered plugs – including tapered plug caps, wide-flange plug caps (including thick and extra-thick), centre pull plugs, paper tapered plugs, EPDM tapered plugs, and silicone tapered plugs.
- Threaded plugs – 16 models of red plugs, all manufactured in an assortment of styles and materials. Designed to fit a wide variety of standard and metric threads and various types of threaded ports, fittings, and assemblies. Examples include general-purpose, sealing, hex-socket, square-head, universal, and push-in plugs.
MOCAP offers hundreds of sizes, shapes, and designs of polyethylene injection-moulded plugs, all of them stocked and ready to ship. Vinyl dip-moulded plastic plugs come in standard flexible PVC material for shipping and protection, with high-temperature models for masking. EPDM and silicone rubber plugs suit paint, powder-coating, and spray-masking applications, including tapered plugs, washer plugs, and pull plugs.
