Protective caps are available from MOCAP in three different designs

MOCAP caps come in many varieties.

MOCAP has been supplying an enormous range of industrial caps, plugs, and grips for North American businesses since 1982. For example, the manufacturer offers three primary categories of designs of caps, with different types of vinyl plastic dip-moulded, plastic injection-moulded, and rubber caps for any protective, masking, or finishing applications.

Hundreds of designs, sizes, shapes

MOCAP uses three materials and three basic models to make these caps, while offering hundreds of cap designs, sizes, and shapes in low-density polyethylene. The company employs a unique process for vinyl dip-moulded plastic protective caps that results in customized, flexible PVC units, while allowing customers to specify length, wall thickness, colour, surface texture, and hardness with no extra tooling charges.

A wide variety of rubber caps is also available, in silicone or EPDM, and is appropriate for paint, powder-coating, or spray-masking tasks. Many sizes are in stock for immediate shipment. The following three cap designs are available from MOCAP:

• Friction fit caps – constructed to protect threads and fittings from moisture, contamination, and damaged. Non-threaded, which allows users to slide them into place easily and remove them with minimal effort. Among the options are round, square, hex, flat, hanger, pull-tab, and straight caps. There are also plastic, paper, EPDM, and silicone variations, each in a different colour.
• Tapered caps – also designed and built to protect threads and fittings from moisture, contamination, and damage. MOCAP makes red tapered plug caps, red wide-flange caps, yellow thick wide-flange caps, yellow thick extra-wide-flange caps, and brown paper tapered caps.
• Threaded caps – red threaded polyethylene caps that perform a similar function to those of the other two designs, but they are also knurled for simpler user application and handling. Three options are available in this category, for BSP/gas fittings, metric threads, or flared JIC fittings. For MOCAP customers who require fewer caps than the case quantities, all sizes are available in Mini-Paks and Micro-Packs.
