marine protection systems

SeaShield systems are great for splash zones.

Denso North America is the manufacturer that Canadian businesses trust for top damage prevention in many industries – construction, oil and gas, government infrastructure, and more. This goes for marine applications in which wharf piles, riser pipes, and exposed piping are at risk of water damage in structures like bridges and waterfront terraces. For these tasks, the Denso team offers the ideal solution – the SeaShield series of marine protection systems.

Protection from corrosion damage

These corrosion-prevention and sealing products are designed for splash zones in marine applications. SeaShield systems can protect steel, concrete, timber, and other materials from corrosion damage with petrolatum tape, fibreglass jackets, epoxy grouts, and more. Among the options available:

  • Series 2000HD. This series provides steel and concrete-pile protection for wharf piles, riser pipes, and exposed piping in inter-tidal and splash zones. The system accommodates piles with cylindrical configurations, plus support members, bracing, brackets, and other irregular surfaces. It includes Denso petrolatum tape and a bolted HDPE jacket that protect the pile and seal out oxygen and water, so as to stop corrosion of metal surfaces.
  • Series 100. Similar to Series 2000HD, these marine protection systems offer steel, concrete, and timber-pile protection with little surface preparation. Recommended for conditions that are too harsh for paint systems, epoxies, and other conventional kinds of protection. The high-density-polyethylene (HDPE) outer cover protects the petrolatum tape, with banded strapping holding the outer cover in place.
  • Series 90. Ideal for protecting timber piles, like hour-glass piles, bracing, or posting. These marine protection systems protect timber supports against borer destruction and deterioration from weathering, by sealing oxygen out with petrolatum tape and then nailing a durable HDPE jacket to the pile.
  • Series 500. Heavy-duty pile protection with fibreglass jackets, to repair coastal marine structures and protect from corrosion. Recommended for jetty piles, bridge supports, offshore risers, conductors, jacket legs, and structural member support. Users can adapt the system for various pile shapes and sizes, both above water and below. The fibreglass jackets are secured to the pile and then filled with Denso 550 epoxy/grout.
