The SINEAX V624 programmable temperature transmitter by Camille Bauer

Camille Bauer Metrawatt AG manufactures many great measurement solutions that are available to Canadian businesses through Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. For example, the SINEAX brand includes the V624 programmable temperature transmitter, which is designed for measuring temperature in combination with thermocouples or resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). Thermocouple non-linearities are compensated automatically, and the input variable and measuring range are programmed with the assistance of a personal computer and the corresponding software.

Simpler project planning and engineering

The SINEAX V624 offers an analog output signal that is either an impressed current or superimposed voltage that is linearly proportional to temperature, and other devices can process it for displaying, recording, and/or regulating a constant. The sensor circuit is monitored for open and short circuits, and the output responds in a defined manner if one is detected. By using a PC for programming, this instrument simplifies project planned and engineering with short delivery times and low stocking levels.

Other features and benefits of this programmable temperature transmitter from Mod-Tronic:

  • electric isolation between input and output of 2.3 kilovolts;
  • power supply of 3.7 kilovolts;
  • wide DC and AC power-pack tolerance;
  • available in “Intrinsic safety” protection type;
  • programmable with or without power-supply connection;
  • compact housing of only 17½ millimetres, for confined spaces;
  • software calibration of beginning and end of output signal range; and
  • digital measured variable data available at the programming interface, which simplifies commissioning, and users can view measured variables and signals on a PC in the field.

The V624 offers other programmable parameters for highly flexible measurement solutions. Examples: specific measured variable data (for instance, two-, three-, or four-wire connections for RTD devices, or internal or external cold junction compensation of thermocouples), transmission mode, operating sense (with output signal directly or inversely proportional to the measured variable), and open-circuit sensor supervision (output signal assumes fixed preset value between minus five and 110 per cent).

Camille Bauer developed and produces this instrument strictly according to the ISO 9001 quality-assurance standard, and it complies with all of the important requirements regarding electromagnetic compatibility in EMC and Safety.
