Powerful punches by Nitto Kohki make holes in metal materials

Dobco carries Nitto Kohki punches.

Nitto Kohki makes a broad variety of industrial machine tools that are available to Canadian businesses through Dobco Equipment Ltd. The Japanese manufacturer produces balancer reels, electric drivers, grinders, boring drills, and power-tool accessories, and another of its specialties is punches, for making holes in metal materials. These powerful punching tools come in two main designs, the HA and HS series, and in an electric option; punches and dies are also available.

Long punching and return times

The Nitto Kohki HA series of punches has numerous features, like fully automatic punches, return and reset operations, emergency switches that can halt operations instantly at any time, and an allowable maximum pressure of 10,000 pounds per square inch (psi). Each unit comes with a hose cord assembly, spanner, sub handle assembly, tool box, 22-millimetre (mm) punch and die mounted on machines, and four-mm Allen wrench. Optional accessories include spring balancers, foot switch assemblies, and split lock nuts.

As for the HS series, each punch has a double-acting hydraulic system that allows both automatic and manual operations. These tools have longer punching and returning times than do those in the HA series, with an allowable maximum pressure of 10,000 psi, but the same optional accessories. Each tool in the HS line comes with a hose cord and hose kit assembly, spanner, sub handle assembly, chip guard assembly, tool box, 22-mm punch and die mounted on machines, and four- or five-mm Allen wrench. Punch and dies for both series have size diameters from eight to 25 mm.

The Nitto Kohki E55-0619 self-contained electric and hydraulic punch – which can make round or elongated holes in flat bars, angle bars, and channel iron – is also available from Dobco. This punch offers a maximum output of 17 tons, a maximum punching diameter of 13/16 of an inch, and a maximum punching thickness of ¼ of an inch.

Punches and dies for the E55-0619 are available in custom shapes and sizes. It comes with a ten-by-12 spanner and a three-, four- or five-mm Allen wrench. A foot switch assembly is optional.
