Hougen portable mag drills, available from Dobco

Hougen Manufacturing produces power drills that are available via Dobco Equipment Ltd. This includes portable magnetic drills. For more than 50 years, Hougen has been a world leader in magnetic drills, crafting them with high performance and reliability at its headquarters in Swartz Creek, MI. From steel fabrication and construction to bridge rebuilding, mining, shipbuilding, transportation, oil and gas, welding shops, power utilities, mobile repair ships, and machinery riggers, many sectors count on Hougen portable magnetic drills.

Saving time and effort

Portable mag drills are specialized power tools that drill holes in metal, especially steel. Also called portable base drills or portable drill presses, they are usable in shops or on worksites. It can be cumbersome and time-consuming to manoeuvre large steel piping into position at a stationary drill press or work centre, but a Hougen portable device lets the user take the drill to the work piece instead of trying to do vice-versa. Another major benefit of these tools: they can be operated in any position: vertical, horizontal, or even upside-down.

Dobco carries the following models of Hougen portable mag drills:
