piezoelectric accelerometers

Four of the many accelerometers available

Durham Instruments offers an unsurpassed selection of industrial test and measurement solutions, including more than a dozen categories of accelerometers. These devices are used to capture vibration data from test articles under various dynamic load cases. Customers use them for such applications as drop testing, material-properties investigation, and monitoring blast and high-shock events. One category with numerous options available is a series of IEPE, CCLD, and piezoelectric accelerometers by Brüel & Kjær and TE Connectivity.

For structural or modal analysis

Through the use of the right accelerometer technology, customers can conduct a broad range of tasks, from machine and structural monitoring to various modal-analysis systems. This particular lineup of instruments includes nearly 70 models manufactured by Brüel & Kjær. Examples include devices designed for modal analysis, structural analysis, general-purpose vibration sensing, measurements on lightweight structures, flight-test applications, small or confined spaces, and continuous high-temperature operation.

The Brüel & Kjær lineup includes dozens of CCLD accelerometers, such as miniature models or triaxial models – and some are also piezoelectric accelerometers. Examples include versions with or without cables, with side connectors or top connectors, with slots, and in teardrop shapes. A few devices have adhesive mounts or tapped holes. Piezoelectric accelerometers by this manufacturer include many instruments constructed for modal analysis, as well as a couple for structural analysis. Others are suitable for vibration measurement in harsh environments or for low-level measurement.

Numerous IEPE accelerometers by TE are also available from Durham Instruments – some with high performance, some with a triaxial design, and a few for isolated high temperatures. These devices come in a wide range of shapes and dynamic ranges. Examples of options available include a triaxial seat-pad accelerometer, a miniature high-performance version for high-frequency shock and vibration measurements, stud-mounted models, devices for modal analysis, and models with internal shielding. A total of 23 TE accelerometers in this main category are available.

For other needs, Durham Instruments carries other categories of accelerometers, such as charge-mode, crash-test, digital, force-balanced, MEMS, specialty, angular, board-level, and cable accelerometers. Mounting accessories are also available, plus other accelerometer instrumentation.
