Four communication and data-transfer options

The VisuNet group ranges from network remote monitors to fully enclosed custom operator workstations. Each is designed to comply with the strict standards of real-time process control, such as globally certified units for Zones 1 and 2 and Divisions 1 and 2. With a wide range of communication technologies available, industrial users can find a solution that fits any HMI visualization infrastructure.

PIC offers four distinct types of VisuNet communications and data-transfer options:

  • PC – Monitor with Integrated PC. This industrial-grade PC and monitor has full PC computing capabilities operating as a stand-alone solution. Network-compatible or stand-alone options are available, as is low power consumption and heat generation with the Intel Atom, as well as high performance with Intel Core 2 Duo or Core i7.
  • RM – Network-Based Remote Monitor. A network monitor with a dedicated thin client and compatibility with standard Ethernet networking. The power-efficient Intel Atom processor provides top performance, and options include Citrix ICA or Microsoft RDP or VNC protocols over Ethernet. Many RMs can connect to one server via compressed data transfer.
  • KM – Monitor with KVM Extender. This monitor allows users to send keyboard, video, and touchscreen or mouse signals over long distances with a transmitter and receiver unit. Fiber-optic or CAT5; up to 300 metres of distance between monitor and PC.
  • DM – Monitors. Designed specifically to be reliable and last a long time in harsh working environments. Connects directly to the PC; widescreen format ranges from ten to 22 inches. Made from only industrial-grade components. Touchscreen and transflective options are available.
