Housed in this building with a customer training area, warehouse space, and distribution facilities, the Pepperl+Fuchs SEC employs a team of experienced, talented engineers who have the ability to design, build, and certify customized solutions for process automation in dangerous work locations – all done right onsite. Not only can this team assemble customized equipment locally; it can also deliver it to clients right away for immediate installation and use.

One example of equipment that the Pepperl+Fuchs SEC team can build is Ex e boxes, or increased safety boxes. These are protection methods for hazardous-location zones. Examples of Ex e solutions include terminal junction boxes, fieldbus junction boxes, and control stations. These custom-built products ensure that live equipment parts do not get wet and generate arcs or sparks.

Since its opening nearly two years ago, the SEC has taken the manufacturer’s service to a new level. Typically, certification of hazardous-location equipment is a process that can take months, but Pepperl+Fuchs has expanded its capabilities to construct and certify world-class products in mere days.
