Parker's SA series of stainless steel cylinders

For the best selection of industrial wash-down devices and equipment, businesses across Canada rely on Wainbee Limited as their key distributor. Wainbee partners with Parker to supply many products – including the SA series of stainless steel cylinders. Specifically designed to meet the needs of harsh chemical wash-down environments today, these cylinders are constructed out of 303 and 304 stainless steel, except for the aluminum pistons. As a result, they combine corrosion resistance with high reliability.

Available in eight mounting styles

These tie-rod cylinders by Parker are available in eight mounting styles and with optional cushions, piston bumper seals, and magnetic pistons: customers can choose from many different options to meet their individual needs. To keep maintenance as low as possible, the SA series is rated for Non-Lube air service.

These stainless steel cylinders are especially popular in the food-processing sector, in which clean environments free of bacteria are of utmost importance. Wainbee is one of more than 130 suppliers that offer local personalized service for Parker customers, and the SA series is available for fast delivery to minimize user downtime.

Other notable features of the SA series of premium-quality air cylinders: rod seals, or pressure-energized lip seals that compensate for wear; a rod wiper, to wipe foreign material from the piston rod aggressively and enhance the rod-seal life; an adjustable captive cushion needle, which enables safe, precise adjustment under pressure; a wear strip, with PTFE and graphite composition for minimum friction and maximum wear and side-load resistance; and stainless steel acorn nuts covering tie-rod threads, to eliminate a hiding place for bacteria.

Technical specifications for these stainless steel cylinders:

  • Operating temperatures: -40 to 93 degrees Celsius for standard seals, -29 to 204 degrees Celsius for fluorocarbon seals.
  • Operating pressure: 250 psig air, for bore sizes from 1-1/8 to eight inches.
  • Supply: Filtered compressed air to 250 pounds per square inch (psi); petroleum-based hydraulic fluid to 400 psi, for bore sizes from 1½ to eight inches.
  • Lubrication: None required.
  • Other materials: 300 stainless steel, 6061 aluminum, PTFE composite wearbands, urethane, nitrile.
