Parker’s SensoNODE long-range wireless sensors, available from Wainbee

In the industrial world, downtime can be a serious problem. Shutting production down results in lost time and money, with fewer products manufactured and labour expenses with no return. Wainbee Limited knows how costly downtime is, so it supplies equipment that conducts predictive maintenance. A key example is Parker’s SensoNODE long-range wireless sensors. These compact, energy-efficient devices measure pre-charge for accumulators, using an easy Bluetooth connection.

Accurate pressure and temperature readings

Damage from pre-charge loss can affect production and, by extension, a company’s bottom line in a negative way. Parker SensoNODE wireless sensors prevent this from happening with Bluetooth sensors built specifically to provide simple solutions for measuring gas pre-charge on bladder- and piston-style accumulators. They also allow hands-off, pre-charge pressure and temperature measurement to prevent downtime.

Features and benefits of these wireless sensors include the following:

  • Pressure-relieving thread that improves safety by slowly releasing trapped gas pressure upon disassembly (sensor and forged adapters);
  • Customized module within SCOUT mobile app software;
  • Consistent, accurate pressure and temperature readings;
  • Connected mode for data collection and analysis;
  • Broadcast mode for access to any operator within range;
  • No external power supply required;
  • LED indicator for sensor status;
  • Uniquely identifiable sensors for association with assets and processes; and
  • More than a year of battery life, depending on scan/transmission rates.

In addition, Wainbee keeps application engineers and technical-support personnel on hand to ensure that customers use these devices properly.

Parker manufactures two versions of these flexible sensor solutions, both of which include adapters and poppet-style charge valves for fast, easy installation on any -5 SAE O-ring boss gas side ported accumulator. The standard version has a compact design that fits seamlessly into any production, with fewer leak points and accurate pre-charge measurement. The EMA Disconnect Under Pressure Option uses an industry-standard Parker EMA3 connection and allows for connection or removal of a sensor for servicing or use in multiple applications. The EMA3 also uses a knurled sleeve with easy twist-to-connect operation. Users can download the SCOUT app for free on any mobile device.
