Wainbee can supply Parker multi-axis servo drives, known as PSD1-M. These servo drives can be used as a standalone or as part of a multi-axis servo system where each axis module can have up to three servo motors.

This type of servo system is well suited to centralized automation systems, such as those used in many packaging machines. Some other common applications include material forming machines, handling machines and general automation.

Multiple drives in one

Parker multi-axis servo drives are the most compact system on the market, and offer the benefit of combining one-, two- and three-axis versions into a single housing. This allows for a high degree of flexibility.

The PSD1-M multi-axis servo drive was developed for applications where multiple drives are typically required. This solution offers OEMs and users the chance to reduce costs for building, configuration and operation, while increasing productivity and profitability.

Additional features

Some of the additional features offered by this multi-axis servo drive include high-speed communication, optional motor feedback, and simple push-in connections for the inputs and outputs. The servo drive also offers fast and easy wiring with a single cable connection between the drive and SMH motor. The result is reduced wiring costs and increased reliability.

The drive also offers autotuning, observer technology, anti-resonance adjustments, vibration suppression, notch-filter and fast control loops. There is also a removable SD card that enables easy exchange between drives, software upgrades, parameters and application memory.

Another advantage of having up to three axis in a single housing is the reduced machine footprint, as the electronics footprint can be reduced up to 40 per cent when compared to conventional solutions.
