One of the many lockout valves by Parker

Wainbee Limited carries a full lineup of pneumatic products by Parker. This includes lockout valves, which are installed in pneumatic drop legs or individual pneumatic control lines. The LV and EZ series, for example, are particularly safe devices for workers during maintenance or service of air-operated equipment.

Designed for pipe sizes from ¼ to two inches NPT or BSPP, these Parker Pneumatic lockout valves have yellow cast aluminum bodies with red handles or are stainless steel.

Higher efficiency and productivity

The LV series delivers higher efficiency and productivity, and Parker designs these valves to meet or exceed safety standards. The valve exhaust port is larger than the main pressure ports, allowing the valve to exhaust at a higher flow than the valve’s main flow; this lowers the wait time to depressurize the downstream air system completely. Each valve has options of pressure indicators that show when the downstream pressure has been exhausted.

Parker recommends the LV series for such applications as packaging, conveyance, and assembly, in general manufacturing as well as factory automation and the automotive sector. These valves are detent in both open and closed positions. Pressing the handle down blocks inlet pressure and exhausts the downstream pressure, which offers more flow than the valve’s regular flow. The valves are inline- or surface-mountable and have built-in ports for pressure verification to comply with ANSI and PMMI requirements.

The EZ series meets all the standards that the LV series meets, but also has a soft start when the user opens it. Also available from Wainbee, EZ lockout valves have two detented positions for the handle – push to close, pull to open – but an adjustable needle valve controls the pressure buildup rate when the valve is open, which protects equipment during startup following maintenance. A blue dot on each label distinguishes the EZ series from the LV line.

The LV and EZ series are easy to find in an emergency, due to their bright yellow colour and red handles. They can be locked only in the off position, to ensure they can be actuated quickly.
