Smoke shelters, from Mississauga, Ont.-based Excess Space Solutions (ESS), provide a designated outdoor smoking area while protecting non-smokers from second-hand smoke.

Designed to comply with local building code requirements, as well as local smoking regulation bylaws, the smoke shelters feature an industrial-grade design, including HSS steel framing, one-piece EPDM rubber roofing and safety glass glazing. Optional items include tinted safety glass, galvanized framing, bench seating, ashtrays, waste bins and custom colours to match existing buildings.

The applications go beyond smoke shelters. The structures can also be used for transit shelters, entrance door breezeways, lunch break areas and picnic shelters.

“Our shelters are the perfect solution for protection from extreme weather conditions,” the company says.

ESS shelters can be delivered as a pre-manufactured one-piece unit or as a pre-fabricated kit for on-site assembly. Installations can be completed by ESS’s factory-trained installers, or customers can choose to use their own installation team to follow the provided installation manual.

ESS provides more than just outdoor shelters. The company is a one-stop shop for mezzanines, demountable wall assemblies and prefabricated buildings. Contact Excess Space Solutions for more details on its smoke shelters or any of its other offerings.
