Oscillating mountings and universal joints by Rosta suit gyratory sifters

Rosta offers two elements for gyratory sifters.

Rosta Inc. has mastered several types of rubber suspension technology, one being oscillating-conveyor technology. The company manufactures a wide range of elements that serve this area, such as universal joints and oscillating mountings. These two products are especially useful in supporting gyratory screening machines – also known as gyratory sifters – which are pieces of equipment commonly used in flour and grain conditioning, pharmaceutical powder preparation, and the chipboard industry.

Two kinds of maintenance-free components

What distinguishes gyratory sifters is their circular screening motion, which provides a fast, complete covering of the entire screen surface to create high throughput. Rosta can offer the right universal and single joint elements for businesses that design hanging or upright gyratory sifters, for loads of up to 40,000 Newtons and rotation of up to 380 min-1.

There are two models of elements for gyratory sifters available from Rosta: Type AK universal joints, and Type AV oscillating mountings. Type AK elements are maintenance-free elastic joints that can be moved in any direction. These are useful as universal joint supports for suspending or mounting gyratory screens, screening tables, tumbling oscillators, sorters, and screening machines that are positively driven by eccentrics or freely oscillating with unbalanced drive. Types AK 15-50 have aluminum square sections, and types AK 27 to AK 100-4 have SC iron housing; all other sizes have steel cores and are constructed of welded steel structures.

Type AV oscillating mountings are also maintenance-free elastic joints, but made for guiding circular motions of handing screens like gyratory sifters and screens in flour and paper mills or chemical processing plants. These mountings have rubber inserts larger than those of other Rosta elements, allowing them to absorb hanging-sifter vibrations intensively and provide better protection for building structures and ceilings. Type AV 50 has SC cast iron housing, while other sizes have cast aluminum housing; all are made from aluminum profiles.

For nearly six years, Rosta has been producing these mountings with an inner square made of light metal profile. All of the dimensions are the same, so the elements are compatible with the previous model.
