REDWIRE Orbit digital measurement network by Solartron enables connections between devices

Solartron has created the Orbit network.

Solartron Metrology test and measurement instrumentation is available in Canada through Hoskin Scientific Ltd. The manufacturer has developed a fully formed digital measurement system, the Orbit Network, that makes it easy for users to inter-connect high-accuracy Solartron probes, gateways, and other kinds of sensors to any computer, network, or PLC.

Orbit is a super-flexible network for gauging and linear high-speed measurement, both contact and non-contact, that is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 in 64 or 32 bit.

Simple, quick data collection

This Solartron digital measurement system takes traditional LVDT gauging to a new level. Credited by real-world scenarios in which dimensional measurement is vital for quality, Orbit enables simple connection of probes with high-speed information gathering. The network is combined with Solartron Gauge Software for simple, quick data collection and measurement display.

These digital displacement and gauging sensors blend the proven dependability of LVDT-type sensors with improved performance. Solartron has enhanced LVDT through a process of constant development, which results in a gauge probe that is highly robust and accurate while providing top value. But other types of sensors are compatible with Orbit; some Solartron products allow simple integration of third-party sensors to form a measurement system – such as LVDT gauge probes combined with rotary encoders to enable profiling of crankshafts and similar components.

The network paves the way forward for all precision-measurement or positioning needs, on production lines or in laboratories. Orbit architecture consists of a rugged mechanical design coupled with a high level of electrical protection and excellent noise immunity, which ensures valid, accurate info when required. It processes and transmits clean, repeatable data from sensors at speeds as high as 3,906 readings a second.

As an official Solartron stocking distributor, Hoskin carries many Orbit-compatible products. Examples include digital measuring probes, low-tip force probes, compact probes, rugged probes for challenging environments, specialist transducers, non-contact sensors, modules, gateways, and probes with inline connectors.
