Festo's TechTalk session on Feb. 28 discusses A.I. and its effect on automation.

The Festo Group is back at the annual Hannover Messe trade show this year, from April 1 to 5 in Hannover, Germany. In advance of this event, the company is holding an online press conference on Feb. 28 to discuss artificial intelligence (A.I.) and its effect on the automation industry.

Media representatives are encouraged to register for the 30-minute session at this link. It will be available at 9 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on the 28th and take the form of a TechTalk, more of a round-table discussion than a presentation.

“Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”

Hannover Messe 2019 will tackle the theme, “Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”. This refers to A.I. and human-machine cooperation, which is going to have a major effect on automation in the future. Questions arising from this topic include: “How does foresighted machine maintenance work?”, “How does A.I. advance automation?” and “How can industrial locations benefit from these activities?”

In the coming TechTalk conference, these questions will be answered by four experts as they discuss the potential and opportunities that A.I. offers and how Festo is positioned in this context. The experts:

  • Dr. Frank Melzer, member of Festo’s board for product and technology management;
  • Tanja Krüger, managing director of Resolto Informatik GmbH, a Festo Group company;
  • Dr. Elias Knubben, Festo’s head of corporate research and innovation; and
  • Dionysios Satikidis, digital strategy and business models.

The conference will also present Festo’s new bionics projects.

Registered participants may submit any questions for consideration by this distinguished panel in advance by e-mail, preferably before Feb. 26, to Karin Fischer at the Festo press office: karin.fischer@festo.com. The conference can be downloaded and listened to at the user’s convenience starting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 28, in English and German, through Video on Demand.

The Festo booth will be located at Hall 15, Stand D11 at Hannover Messe this year. Visitors to the show are highly encouraged to drop by, say hello, and learn about the innovative solutions Festo can provide. Interviews with the company are available upon advance request.
