The LD 60/90 mobile robot by Omron

Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. is Canada’s leading authority on intelligent robotic technology, making Omron equipment available to Canadian businesses. Omron’s LD series consists of self-navigating Autonomous Mobile Robots designed for moving materials in difficult work environments – like locations with confined passageways or many people.

What distinguishes these mobile robots by Omron from traditional Autonomously Guided Vehicles (AGVs) is that they require no facility modifications, like floor magnets or navigational beacons. This significantly reduces deployment costs.

Integrated, intelligent, and interactive

The LD series includes Omron’s proprietary software and controls, enabling it to navigate around people and unplanned obstacles intelligently. Traditional AGVs get incapacitated in such situations. These systems are designed for developers, integrators, and end users, who can program one within a day and customize it for various tasks and payloads. Advanced Motion & Controls recommends these mobile robots for manufacturing, warehouse, clean-tech, and laboratory environments.

Fully autonomous intelligent vehicles, the LD series increases throughput, reduces machine dwell time, eliminates errors, improves material traceability, and lets workers focus on tasks requiring complex human abilities. Unlike standard AGVs, these robots use the natural features of the environment to navigate, so no expensive facility modification is necessary.

Omron’s robots are easy to set up, with minimal programming; users do not have to install pre-set routes, magnets, or beacons. LD software integrates with other systems to get the robots functioning quickly. Other advantages: easy integration with MES, ERP, and WMS; enhanced security, to comply with Internet systems; and automatic software that updates across fleet while keeping workflow continuous.

Flexible functionality is another key benefit of the LD series. Users can adapt these versatile, scalable robots for a wide variety of applications. Payloads range from 60 to 250 kilograms, in multiple form factors and protection ratings, making them ideal for most small-to-mid-range material-transport tasks.
