The Ohio Broach & Machine Company has been offering broaching machine rebuilding and repair services since the 1960s. Today, customers across North America rely on the company for its expertise in this area.

“Our experience in the design and building of new machines and broach tools allows us to take an out-of-service machine and convert it into a productive piece of equipment,” the company explains.

The process

There are multiple steps involved in successfully rebuilding a broaching machine — a process that, on average, takes 16 to 20 weeks. Once the out-of-service machine is torn down, the team at Ohio Broach will clean, grind and replace any worn parts, including ram slides and guide blocks. The company uses horizontal and vertical CNC milling centers and grinding machines to fabricate any parts needed to get the machine back up and running. After the components have been repaired or replaced, the machine is rebuilt, complete with updated hydraulic and electrical systems.

The company also has the capability to retrofit machines, updating them to feature the latest automated technology.

Once rebuilt or retrofitted, the company can inspect the installation of the machine at the customer's facility and assist in a capability run off.
