Precision sharpening, reconditioning, and repair

The talents of the Ohio Broach team span a wide spectrum. Options include welding and repair for tools, coatings, assembly and disassembly of broach holder bars, machine or tool troubleshooting, and consultation. Primarily, Ohio Broach provides four major services for clients across North America:

• Broaching machine design and engineering. Ohio Broach’s machine-designing skills are not limited to the company’s own equipment. The team also tackles broaching machine design and construction for specific customer applications. Every Ohio Broach custom-designed machine comes with a comprehensive operation and maintenance manual.
• Broach-machine rebuilding. With the necessary experience and skills, Ohio Broach can take out-of-service machines and convert them into productive pieces of equipment. First, the crew tears down the machine, and then it cleans and grinds worn components, including guide blocks and ram slides. Parts that cannot be salvaged are replaced. Ohio Broach can make any new parts required for a machine with its horizontal and vertical CNC milling centres and grinding equipment.
• Production broaching. Ohio Broach provides in-house production contract broaching for customers who cannot accommodate their own private broaching machines. Services available include internal broaching, broaching of irregular shapes, blind spline broaching, and surface broaching, all performed with the company’s machines.
• Tool sharpening. Services include precision sharpening, reconditioning, and repair of broaching tools. As broach tools must be properly sharpened for optimal cutting, the company offers sharpening and reconditioning of round broaches, keyways, surface broaches, and form broaches made of all kinds of high-speed steel.
