Great options are available for conveyor upgrades.

In the current business climate, in which e-commerce efficiency and supercharged delivery abilities are vital, manufacturing plants and warehouses must adapt their capabilities constantly. This includes upgrading material-handling systems. With the assistance of Norpak Handling Ltd., businesses can keep pace with changing customer needs while remaining competitive in their fields.

In a recent blog entry, Norpak summarized three advanced, high-performing conveyors designed to optimize operations and improve bottom lines.

Pallets, truck loading, vertical movement

Hytrol manufactures two models of two-strand roller conveyors for pallets: the DCEZ-62 and DCEZ-82. These conveyors use EZLogic Zone Control technology to accumulate pallets with no pressure and at high speeds, event with fragile or irregular packages, as well as EZLogic Accumulation and EZDrive technologies. As a proud Hytrol Integration Partner, Norpak cites several advantages of these pallet conveyors: the ability to sense item presence automatically and start or stop zone drives; automated accumulation and release with no need for pneumatic logic components; zone-stop functions that enable transformation of zones into workstations; dynamic zone allocation capabilities that automatically adjust zone length based on item dimensions; and automatic loading and unloading zone features that delay zones when required.

Next, the AfterSort TL2 extendible telescoping conveyor is an extremely durable and versatile truck loader built to work in large warehouses and designed to handle forklift traffic and potential collisions. Features include a ten-inch thick structural steel channel framework, few moving parts (which reduces maintenance and breakdown), integrated guard tails for less product damage, a powered drive system that results in efficient, smooth movement of the conveyor in and out of trailers, safety bumper bars with auto-reverse capabilities, and recessed control switches to mitigate potential damage.

The Ambaflex spiral conveyor helps users move items to lower levels without taking up much floor space; it also offers very high throughput with continuous operation. This unit is unique in its ability to offer both vertical transportation and product accumulation in one conveyor. Workers can use the Ambaflex for either inclines or declines, which is an advantage over gravity spiral conveyors, which are useful only for declines.
