The Eclipse MA200 inverted microscope by Nikon

Hoskin Scientific Ltd. supplies a vast spectrum of test and measurement instruments from a variety of major manufacturers. For example, Hoskin is the Canadian authorized distributor for Nikon Metrology, which has been making a wide range of non-contact, high-accuracy, laser-based solutions for more than 25 years. Nikon has a portfolio that ranges from laser, radar, CMM, and handheld scanners to video metrology measuring solutions – and it also manufactures different types of industrial microscopes.

Better image quality, zoom ratio

Customers can choose from three main types of Nikon microscopes: inverted, upright, and stereo microscopes. The Eclipse MA200, for instance, is an inverted materials microscope with an innovative design that the Nikon team has optimized for digital imaging and ergonomic efficiency. Superior image quality is a key advantage of the MA200; in addition, it uses integrated intelligence to combine captured images automatically with data on their observation settings for more comprehensive documentation. The unique box design enables easy access to the sample on the stage and nosepiece, with 1/3 the footprint size of standard microscopes.

The Eclipse LV100ND is a manual, motorized upright microscope with episcopic/diascopic illumination, which meets the different requirements of observation, inspection, research, and analysis across a wide range of industrial sectors. This instrument allows control of objectives and light intensity from the camera control unit and automatically detect observation methods. Other benefits include higher NA, an extremely long working distance, mean superior optical performance, and efficient digital imaging.

Also available from the Hoskin inventory is the SMZ1270i stereo microscope, which gives users a best-in-class zoom ratio of 12.7x. Nikon developed this instrument to have high operability, intelligent image acquisition features, and first-rate optical performance. The SMZ1270i offers a wide view field at low magnification, allowing easy confirmation of observation targets, and its innovative optics provide bright and sharp images through the full view field. The microscope also comes with intelligent functions that enable automatic detection of magnification data.

In addition to microscopes, Hoskin customers have access to Nikon microscope objectives for bioscience applications, plus a few models of microscope cameras.
