EXAIR's new “Optimize Your Compressed-Air Use by Turning It Off” webinar

EXAIR LLC manufactures a breadth of industrial compressed-air equipment unavailable from any other company, from a team that prides itself on its expertise in this area. For example, the EXAIR team can offer unmatched advice to customers on how to optimize their use of compressed air, saving energy and money.

Jordan Shouse, an application engineer with EXAIR, demonstrates his own expertise in the recent webinar “Optimize Your Compressed-Air Use by Turning It Off”.

Significant savings for facilities

Available to view on the EXAIR website, this 19-minute webinar explores the advantages of controlling a compressed-air system by shutting it off when not in use, strategies for doing so, and how to calculate the air savings based on the duty cycle.

Often considered one of the key utilities in most manufacturing plants because of the cost of generation, compressed air offers the major benefit of the speed at which one can shut it off and re-energize it for use. Shutting down the compressed-air supply to an application when it is not required can substantially lower the air consumption of the process over time – an easy tactic that can yield high savings for the process and the facility, even if it has high-efficiency pneumatic equipment installed.

For instance, consider a task that uses compressed air for blowoff, conveying, or static elimination when there are spaces between the parts or dwell times in conveyor travel or the process. Should operators keep the air on when they leave for breaks or to clear jams, replace pallets, or even leave for the day? There are numerous options for shutting off compressed air, from a simple ball valve to a PLC system using optics to locate components and turn the air source on and off according to target position. This EXAIR webinar by Shouse explores all facets of the topic.
