pneumatic tubing

Festo’s newest line of FDA-compliant pneumatic tubing – PTFEN – is optimized for meeting the demands of harsh operating environments.

Festo has just released its latest innovation in industrial pneumatic tubing: PTFEN, designed specifically for harsh operating environments in food processing and other industries. Compliant with the strict standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration, PTFEN tubing delivers top resistance to high pressure, heat, corrosion, and hydrolysis in these applications.

PTFEN is a robust design of pneumatic tubing that is constructed out of polytetrafluorethylene, a material to which microbes and other active agents and contaminants do not stick – which makes the tubing very easy to clean.

Ideal for several industries

PTFEN tubing is also TSE-free, resistant to cleaning agents, and unaffected by challenging ambient atmospheric work conditions. With the tubing’s high level of hygienic safety, Festo recommends it not only for food production, but also for conveying applications in the chemical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics sectors.

This pneumatic tubing has been rated for up to six bar at 130 degrees Celsius for pressure resistance and at 150 degrees Celsius for heat resistance, depending on the recommended Festo fitting with which the user pairs it. Festo Canada’s expert team can recommend the ideal blend of tubing and fitting for any application, as the company carries more than 200 nickel-plated brass and stainless steel fittings. PTFEN tubing is available in seven different sizes, with outside diameters ranging from four to 16 millimetres.

Other features and specification of this product include the following:

  • Operation in ambient temperatures from -20 to 150 degrees Celsius;
  • Operating medium of compressed air according to ISO 8573-1:2010;
  • Compliance with material fire test UL94-V-O; and
  • Numerous accessories available separately, including push-in fittings, click fittings, and quick connectors.

For top pneumatic plastic tubing that is resistant to high temperatures and chemicals, manufacturers in several different industries can rely on Festo’s PTFEN brand.
