New safety circuit from Wainbee ensures user hand protection

Wainbee Limited has recently introduced its Machine Safety lineup, a group of products that function effectively while also protecting users and the environment from workplace accidents. One of the products available through this lineup is the Two-Hand, No-Tie-Down (THNTD) Circuit from Clippard Minimatic.

A handy solution

Hand injuries from machinery are a common type of workplace accident in factories, especially when a machine lacks safeguards or when workers forget to lock them out before maintenance. But the Clippard Minimatic THNTD Circuit adds another protective measure to this potential hazard.

The THNTD Circuit requires users to use both hands to operate the equipment – thus keeping their hands out of the way of moving machine parts and out of danger. It incorporates Clippard’s VA-023 circuit module, a self-contained modular circuit board, which has the proper interconnections to ensure an easy, quick installation.

Wainbee’s THNTD Circuit is available with green or red palm buttons, or without palm buttons. Components for assembling the circuit are also available separately, including modular valves and red or green palm buttons, as well as many colours of polyurethane tubing.

Various other output functions are easily achieved, such as:

• Maintained output when holding both palm buttons;
• Momentary output of about 50 milliseconds in duration;
• Cancelable output, cancelling after tripping a normally open three-way limit valve; and
• Cancelable output after a time delay, in which the output terminates after a designated time duration.
