York Fluid Controls now offers the latest addition to the Versa-Matic product line — the new AirVantage pump with energy-saving technology

AirVantage is a new technology for air operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps that significantly reduces air consumption over traditional AODD pumps — up to 50 per cent savings, according to field tests.

How is this possible?

AirVantage constantly manages energy consumption thanks to an advanced learning program that receives velocity feedback from an embedded sensor. This optimizes energy consumption and automatically adapts to changes in system demand.

The pumps are powered only by compressed air. A self-contained 12-volt power generator converts a small portion of compressed air to power system electronics for managing energy.

Flow and productivity are not compromised by the energy saving technology. Field trials show that AirVantage can maintain comparable flow capacity while reducing air consumption. This will save thousands of dollars in annual energy costs. In addition, by using less air to operate pumps, AirVantage allows for more compressed air capacity system-wide to run more pumps, generating greater productivity and better throughput. Another bonus: air compressors with reduced demand need fewer repairs, saving customers thousands of dollars in maintenance and repair costs.

One customer was able to reduce air consumption by 23 per cent at its grains and powders manufacturing facility in 30 days, while still maintaining its desired flow rates. Using AirVantage, the customer determined it would be able to save as much as $1,200 in energy costs and increase its air compressor capacity by 2.5 horsepower per pump.

AirVantage pumps are available in two models — RE2 (two inch) and RE3 (three inch), bolted or clamped. Upgrade kits are also available that fit into existing pumps without having to purchase a new one.
