Endress+Hauser’s Proline Prosonic Flow P 500 – a Proline 500 transmitter (L) and Prosonic Flow P 500 clamp-on sensors (R) – introduces world-first Flow DC functionality for highly reliable ultrasonic flow measurement, even on constrained pipeline networks.

Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. introduces the Proline Prosonic Flow P 500 measuring system, which includes groundbreaking FlowDC functionality. Users can employ this clamp-on ultrasonic measurement technology with the same high reliability on constricted pipeline networks with minimal straight-line inlet runs and disturbed flow. The unique FlowDC function detects and automatically compensates for effects of disturbances on the measuring signal through calculation. This way, one can maintain a consistent, specified accuracy even with a substantial reduction in inlet runs.

Maximum performance in confined spaces

Another benefit is maximum flexibility for users who want to equipment or retrofit plants with clamp-on flow meters. This measuring system can be installed anywhere and anytime, regardless of the pipeline design, to get maximum performance even in confined spaces.

Unlike mechanical meters, ultrasonic flow meters have no moving parts. Direct mounting of sensors on pipes allows safe measurement of corrosive, abrasive, and toxic liquids, regardless of properties like conductivity and pressure. The Prosonic Flow P 500 is perfect for monitoring and controlling processes that use a broad range of fluids like chemicals, liquid hydrocarbons, solvents, acids, bases, or water.

With the Proline 500 transmitter, installing this measuring system enables a broad variety of applications, like quantity and volume measurement, totalizing and balancing, process monitoring, verification of previously installed flow meters, and leak detection between two measuring points in a large pipeline. Prosonic Flow P 500 can record multiple measured values for process control at the same time, including volume flow, flow velocity, and sound velocity.

Users can mount the robust Prosonic Flow P 500 sensors on metal, plastic, GRP, and composite pipeline types, and a special, maintenance-free contact foil offers optimum sound transmission between pipe and sensor surface, which ensures continually high signal strength for stable results and high performance for years.

Yet another highlight is Heartbeat Technology – a testing function integrated into all Endress+Hauser Proline instruments. This allows permanent self-diagnostics with more than 95 per cent coverage and traceable device verification with no process interruption. Full access to all measurement info, including Heartbeat Technology diagnostic data, is possible at any time.
