Bergen Cable Technology has announced enhancements to its popular Terminator Tool, a tool designed to crimp ferrules that secure safety wires to fasteners. The new tool is rich with features that promise to improve the user experience.

The enhancements include:

  • Smaller size: The shorter length of the tool allows the user to get into tight places where access is restricted.
  • Ergonomic design: The ergonomic design provides a better fit for the operator’s hand. In addition, the tool nose can be rotated for the optimum position of each Bergen Safety Cable installation. This provides a 360-degree alignment while allowing the tool to stay in a comfortable ergonomic position. The user can adjust the tension that is applied to the Safety Cable.
  • Improved durability: The robust construction of the tool and its precise dimensional quality offers reliability and repeatability.
  • Easy to use: Users have been requesting the capability to increase or lessen the cable tension by simply turning an adjustment screw in the tension wheel assembly. They now have that capability with the new and improved Terminator Tool.

Used in conjunction with the company’s Safety Cable — the safest, most cost-effective, easiest to install fastener retention system available — the Terminator Tool provides a fastening solution that is more reliable and safer than lockwiring, the company says.

With nose lengths ranging from three to seven inches, the tool has the capability to crimp cable that is .020 and .032 inches in diameter.

For step-by-step instructions on how to install the Safety Cable with the Terminator Tool, there is a short video on Bergen’s website that shows just how easy it is to use.
