One of the HMD920 series of drills from Hougen

Dobco Equipment Ltd. carries many magnetic drills by Hougen Manufacturing – the latest of which is the powerful HMD920 series, available in eight models. This three-speed portable mag drill is ideal for heavy-duty fabrication tasks, with a capacity of 2-3/8 by three inches and Hougen’s most potent high-torque motor.

Users can handle the toughest hole-making challenges in the most demanding of work environments with this Hougen drill series.

Higher versatility with swivel base

An upgrade of the Hougen HMD917 series, the HMD920 drill comes with a three-speed gearbox (250, 450, or 700 revolutions per minute), a pilot light, and a two-stage magnet that provides a 30 per cent power increase when the user turns on the motor. Other key features: positive slug ejection; gravity-fed coolant bottle; feed handles that change quickly from side to side; lift-detector safety system; and rear-mounted controls. Many accessories are available for a portable machine shop, like drill chucks, tapping, and countersink.

The HMD920 series is distinguished by a patented swivel base that adds higher versatility and is great for horizontal, overhead, tight areas and getting out over another piece of steel. The user can precisely line the pilot up with the hole’s centre location. Each swivel base has one stroke lock-and-unlock handle too.

The powerful, industrial-strength motor provides all-day, everyday drilling, and the gearbox maximizes torque, tool life, and productivity. The drill also has a hidden motor cord, 100 per cent Hougen reliability, and a two-year warranty from the manufacturer. Among the technical specifications for these drills from Dobco:
