New heavy-duty solenoid valves designed for demanding jobs

Festo’s new VUVS heavy-duty solenoid valve lineup is a cost-effective yet rugged solution for harsh industrial applications. The versatile valves are a top choice for many users because, not only are they easy to use, but they perform equally well as a high flow, ready-to-install inline valve with silencers, fittings and coils, or as part of a pre-assembled VTUS valve manifold. Top features

VUVS, the newest addition to Festo’s VS Series of standard universal valves, is available with electrical or pneumatic activation, and with AC or DC voltage. Users can switch voltages by simply swapping the valve coils. Ideal uses include vacuum or low-pressure applications, such as simple clamping and locking operations in semi-automatic assembly. Outdoor or semi-exposed jobs in demanding markets like mining, sawmills, foundries and heavy engineering are also suitable applications.

Its ease of use is also a top feature. The unit’s rotatable coil allows the operating voltage to be adjusted for easy mounting in compact spaces. Mounting is extremely fast, with just two screws required. Ordering a VTUS manifold is just as easy via Festo’s online catalogue configurator.

Multiple sizes

VUVS is available in three sizes with G or NPT threads. The options are a 20-millimetre width with a ⅛-inch connection and a 700-litre flow rate; a 25-millimetre width with a ¼-inch connection and a flow rate of 1,400 litres; and a 30-millimetre width with a ⅜-inch connection and flow rate of 2,000 litres. The valve can be connected by hose or pipe.
