New Harting plant means shorter turnaround times for Canadian customers

Harting North America recently celebrated the grand opening of its new sales office and manufacturing facility in Mexico. This most recent expansion, which comes on the heels of the company’s record-breaking fiscal year in 2015, complements Harting’s existing manufacturing site in Illinois, and will result in shorter turnaround times for Canadian customers.

Strategically located

The expansion is an important step forward in enabling Harting to better support its North American customers. Like the company’s Elgin, Ill., plant, the new facility in Mexico is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Its focus will be on high volume runs, while the Elgin plant will continue to produce small and large batch orders for custom connector and cable assemblies.

The new sales office is located in Mexico City, while Harting Mexico Manufacturing is in Silao, located in the GTO region. These strategic locations play a critical role in the company’s ability to provide North American customers with competitive solutions. The sales office is located close to Harting’s key customers and the decision-makers at the centre of the Mexican economy, while the plant is situated near the airport to offer quick, uninterrupted delivery from plant, to warehouse, to customer.

Quality remains a priority

Like all of Harting’s manufacturing facilities, the Silao facility will operate under a single, rigorous quality protocol. Constant in-process inspections, including visual, hipot, pull-force and cross-sectioning testing, as well as customer-specified tests, ensure its customers receive reliable products.

A growing company

With the new sales office in Mexico, Harting has more than 40 subsidiaries worldwide, while its new plant joins 13 other Harting manufacturing plants across the globe. The company employs more than 4,000 people globally, and expects its Mexican plant to create more than 200 manufacturing jobs in the next five years.
