Among the corporation’s latest developments is the unique Han ES Press HMC connector series. Launched in August, these devices enable more flexible production and a simpler installation process for up to 10,000 mating cycles.

The Han ES Press HMC series includes interfaces that users can install quickly, without tools, and are robust enough to be connected and disconnected over a long lifespan.

These new connectors fulfill three of the core needs of flexible production: the ability to install machines and modules quickly, to reconfigure them at well, and to operate them with no disruptions. The Han ES Press HMC connector series by HARTING fills the bill ideally with its quick-connect technology.

The suffix “HMC” in the product name stands for High Mating Cycles. The contact inserts come with a pre-tensioned cage clamp that an actuator triggers; if the actuator is pushed into the contact chamber, the cage clamp returns to its original position and secures the conductor. The user needs nothing more than a screwdriver to release the connection.

Han ES Press HMC connectors fit with the Han standard housing sizes from six B to 24 B. These standard housings are already available in versions with locks and seals optimized for high mating cycles. To complement this, the connector series uses contacts and grounding elements that are extremely abrasion-resistant, because of a special surface coating.

Another key advantage of the Han ES Press HMC series is that it is reliable in all kinds of harsh environments, including those with high vibration. The HARTING team has constructed each device with a conductor that sits tightly as a result of the constant pressure of the cage clamp. The installation and connection times are considerably smaller than those of standard cage clamps, screw connections, and hardwiring techniques.
