filter regulator

Festo’s new PCRP filter regulator delivers high flow rates and reliable compressed air pressure control in a range of harsh environments.

Festo Canada has launched the ideal filter regulator for corrosive atmospheres, extreme temperatures, explosive work zones, and outdoor applications. The PCRP is a tough unit that delivers high flow rates and reliable compressed-air pressure control in a variety of harsh work environments. Among the notable advantages of this regulator are corrosion resistance, ultraviolet resistance, and a rugged construction that makes it suitable for Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22.

Premium stainless steel construction

To ensure high corrosion resistance, the PCRP has housing and an interior constructed entirely of premium stainless steel. The 316L stainless steel housing – designed specifically for the process-automation industry – meets all of the material requirements of the NACW MR0175 standard, which guarantees a high level of corrosive resistance even in hydrogen-sulphide environments, like those common in the petrochemical sector. In addition, the UV-resistant quality of this filter regulator allows it to operate reliably in outdoor environments, withstanding temperatures from -60 to 80 degrees Celsius.

The compact design of the PCRP saves space for users, while blending filter and pressure regulator functions. The flow rate can reach up to 4,115 litres per minute, and the grade of filtration is five or 40 micrometres, depending on which ISO 8573 air-quality compliance level is required of the application. The PCRP also employs a patented seal technology that protects against backflow and ensures reliable exhausting without any special accessories required.

Another advantage of this filter regulator is quick and simple installation. The PCRP has two pressure gauge connections to make mounting more flexible, and users can install it in-line or with the available simple mounting bracket. As soon as the unit is in place, all the user has to do is screw in the pressure gauge, the Festo PAGN.

Pneumatic connections for this product are either ¼ or ½ of an inch in G or NPT. Other key benefits: good particle separation; good regulation characteristics with minimal hysteresis; eight new filter cartridges; and two pressure-regulation ranges, from seven to 12 bar.

The PCRP filter regulator is the latest in Festo’s long line of top technological solutions.
