Endress+Hauser’s Promag W 0xDN full-bore is the world’s first electromagnetic flow meter for unrestricted measurement. It can be located almost anywhere, without inlet and outlet runs or tube restrictions.

Multiple measuring electrodes detect abnormalities

Although it is essential for optimal process control, maximum measurement performance is often hard to achieve, which causes plant operators to compensate for flow disturbances by adopting the recommended inlet and outlet runs or by using a flow-measurement device with a restricted tube. Sufficiently long straight pipe sections may be unavailable for the first method, and tube restrictions reduce pressure, which usually causes higher energy consumption for pump operations.

To resolve these issues, the Promag W series has multiple measuring electrodes that detect flow abnormalities that may affect accuracy. This results in much higher density of measured data than standard devices achieve; there is no measurement distortion from frequent swirls caused by a close-knit pipeline network or obstacles in the pipe, like pipe bends, insertion devices, buildup on the pipe wall, protruding seals, or varying inner diameters.

This electromagnetic flow meter is ideal for installation in compact systems, skids, and other tight spaces, as they require no inlet or outlet runs. Users can equip them with different Proline transmitters, as a compact version (Proline 300/400) or a remote one (400/500) with up to four outputs. These transmitters never compromise performance or accuracy. The digital signal processing, which starts in the intelligent sensor, is the basis for reliable, extremely accurate measurement. Due to digital transmission or the freely combinable inputs and outputs, users get full access to all measurement info, including diagnostic data from Endress+Hauser’s own proprietary Heartbeat Technology.
