The new M12 INOX connector, from HARTING

The HARTING Technology Group always devotes itself to developing the most groundbreaking and innovative connectivity solutions as it expands its already massive line of products. The latest breakthrough is the new M12 INOX connector, a sturdy and durable new product designed for harsh outdoor applications in which corrosion and damage are constant threats.

Made of high-grade stainless steel

HARTING’s impressive line of M12 connectors is ideal for many applications in the automation, robotics, and transportation sectors. What makes the new INOX connector stand out among these products is that they have been constructed out of a high-grade form of stainless steel, which provides extra resistance to corrosion. This makes the INOX connector a very wise choice for harsh work environments that would likely damage standard M12 connectors, either indoors or outdoors.

Although M12 connection technology has a reputation for strength and reliability, rough conditions can still damage or corrode standard connectors with mist, extreme salt spray, or other variables. This is where the INOX connector’s stainless steel construction is a must. To ensure that this make of connector would be adequately encapsulated and protected against salt spray and mist, HARTING tested it with a number of very strong, durable materials, including the commonly used V2A-grade stainless steel. The company eventually concluded that only the superior V4A-grade stainless steel was strong enough to protect the INOX connector from the kinds of harsh working conditions in which companies may use M12 connection.

As a result, HARTING has adapted its manufacturing process to construct the M12 INOX connector with flawless, high-end V4A stainless steel, strong enough to comply with the strict 60068-2-52 severity 4 standard by the International Electrotechnical Commission. Additionally, this connector is built to withstand temperatures ranging from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius and to last for up to 500 mating cycles, rated for up to 4A and 250 volts with crimp termination.

The M12 INOX connector from HARTING also supports IDC technology (HARAX termination) and is available in A, B, and D codes. It is the smart choice for connection applications in the roughest environments.
