New cabinet coolers resist heat and corrosion in challenging industrial environments

Electrical control panels are often exposed to dirt, dust, moisture and heat in industrial environments. Failure to take proper care of these units and their contents can result in costly repairs and replacements, leading to downtime and a shorter product lifespan. 

EXAIR has launched a new product aimed at safely and reliably combatting this common industrial challenge. Its new Small 316 Stainless Steel (316SS) Cabinet Cooler Systems are now available to keep electrical enclosures cool, while resisting heat and corrosion that could damage the cabinet’s internal components. 

Key features

EXAIR’s 316SS Cabinet Coolers use -7 degree C (20 degree F) air to cool the cabinet and its contents. The air is circulated throughout the enclosure to prevent high temperature malfunctions. 

The coolers are available with a range of cooling capacities. Models with capacities up to 550 Btu/hr. are ideal for small electrical enclosures and heat loads. However, higher cooling capacities up to 5,600 Btu/hr. for NEMA 12, 4 and 4X enclosures are also available for larger control panels.

Its Type 316 stainless steel enclosure resists heat, corrosion, oxidation and wear, ensuring a long life and maintenance-free operation. In addition, the coolers are easy to mount through a standard electrical knockout, which maintains the NEMA 12, 4 or 4X rating of the enclosure. 

The units also include an automatic drain filter separator to ensure no moisture passes to the inside of the electrical enclosure. An optional thermostat control is available to minimize compressed air use and keep the inside of the enclosure at a constant temperature. A side mount kit is also available for those applications with space restrictions.

EXAIR’s Small 316 Stainless Steel Cabinet Coolers are UL Listed and CE compliant. They offer a long service life because there are no moving parts to wear out. In addition, they are versatile enough to be used in a wide range of industrial applications, including food processing, pharmaceutical, foundries, chemical processing and other corrosive environments.
