New bolted plastic pump by Versa-Matic has adjustable porting options

The new Versa-Matic E40 1½-inch bolted plastic pump

York Fluid Controls serves manufacturers with a wide range of Versa-Matic pump products. The latest development by this Mansfield, OH producer is the new E40 1½-inch bolted plastic pump. This is an air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pump that offers installation flexibility with adjustable porting options, horizontal and vertical.

This bolted plastic pump offers the same reliability and performance that customers have come to expect from the Versa-Matic line – with new benefits.

Safe, leak-free bolted design

The E40 1½-inch bolted plastic AODD pump consists of polypropylene and polyvinylidene fluoride, or PVDF. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer that resists alkali and strong acids, and PVDF is a durable fluoroplastic with high chemical resistance, impact resistance, and tensile strength. Versa-Matic recommends this material highly for ultraviolet applications.

Versa-Matic has imbued the E40 with a safe, leak-free bolted design and a chemically resistant all-plastic construction with a fluid side and an air side. It delivers consistent on/off reliability, with maximum flows of up to 378 litres per minute, class-leading solids handling of up to 12 millimetres (mm), and an industry-leading displacement per stroke of 1.63 litres. Versa-Matic can supply a conductive polypropylene ATEX-compliant version as well.

Among the applications for which this bolted plastic pump is perfectly suited are aggressive chemical transfer, waste-treatment (filter press) applications, and metal finishing. Its high chemical resistance makes it strong enough for corrosive contents, and it has been engineered to supply high flow rates in a portable size.

Other technical specifications for the new E40 pump: port size of 1½ inches (ANSI/DIN) for both suction and discharge; ¾-inch NPT air inlet; one-inch NPT air exhaust; suction lift of 5.8 metres (dry) and 8.8 metres (wet); maximum solid size of 12 mm in diameter; maximum noise level of 89 decibels; and shipping weight ranging from 37 to 51 kilograms, depending on materials.

Six different models of the E40 are now available from York Fluid Controls – two each in wetted polypropylene, conductive polypropylene, and kynar. Diaphragms come in PTFE (2-PC) or santoprene. This is the latest in Versa-Matic’s long line of innovations.
