The Desoutter EABS nutrunner from Dobco

Desoutter is known for highly innovative assembly equipment, all available to Canadian businesses through Dobco Equipment. This year, the manufacturer has launched a battery-powered nutrunner that has been ergonomically designed for one-hand operation: the EABS. The tool is ideal for applications in the automotive and aerospace industries, in which some fasteners and joints can be difficult to reach. Its compact, 30-centimetre length eliminates space constraints in these tasks, increasing productivity.

An extra hand in assembly

Desoutter developed the EABS knowing that assembly workers get frustrated when trying to manoeuvre power tools in cramped spaces. Often, they need one hand free to support them or hold other components out of the way. This is a daily production challenge in the final assembly of automobiles, for example.

This battery-powered nutrunner was built for those tasks. In addition, it goes above and beyond other nutrunners on the market with its compactness, performance, accessibility, and flexibility. The EABS is 20-35 per cent more compact than similar tools are, while weighing one kilogram and providing 360-degree visibility feedback. This makes it extremely fast and easy to tighten fasteners of up to 24 Newton metres in cramped conditions.

With the EABS battery-powered nutrunner from Dobco, assembly workers can a perfect balance between ergonomic comfort and high productivity. An EABS core model can run at higher than 1,000 revolutions per minute on an 18-volt battery. Another benefit of this cordless tool is that it can work as part of a wireless network: with easy rebalancing, the user can pair it with a Desoutter CONNECT smart hub for applications that require full traceability. This pairing method takes less than ten seconds and is contactless.

Desoutter has also designed the EABS to eliminate all programming errors, such as inaccurate IP-address assignment, which results in hours of needless unplanned downtime to resolve on the network.
