AirPro’s Micromanometer Instruments, available from Chevrier, are usable with smart devices.

Chevrier Instruments is a top Canadian distributor of high-quality measuring and control tools from a number of renowned manufacturers, including AirPro. The latest technological development from AirPro is its new Micromanometer Instruments, a system for measuring static and differential pressures and reading the results on smart devices.

Rugged, compact, and highly accurate

AirPro’s Micromanometer Instruments expand upon the manufacturer’s Micromanometer Model AP800, a measuring tool for static and pressure, by adding mobile application software that enables a seamless connection to smartphones and similar devices, using Bluetooth Low Energy technology.

As the Micromanometer shows data on an integrated display, it also transmits it wirelessly, in real time, to a handheld Android or iOS device with AirPro Mobile Application Software. This system is particularly useful in such applications as commissioning and troubleshooting for air-conditioning systems, testing and balancing, pitot tube duct traverses, and measuring static or differential pressure.

Among the other unique features and advantages of this system:

  • Can calculate velocity when used with a pitot tube;
  • Can auto-zero the pressure sensor when the micromanometer starts up;
  • Has barbed pressure ports to help attach tubing securely;
  • Easy to view in dark areas with high-contrast display;
  • Can measure pressures in water from -3735 to 3735 pascals;
  • Runs on rechargeable Li-ion battery, which ensures long life and low cost of ownership; and
  • Includes calibration certificate.

AirPro Micromanometer Instruments are available in three performance levels: basic, advanced, and professional. The basic version allows users to set target values and view multiple measurements at the same time, displayed in metric or Imperial units, in many languages.

The advanced version can connect to up to two instruments for simultaneous display and data logging; it can also calculate flow rates based on user-input duct size or K-factor, as well as wet-bulb and dewpoint temperatures, and users can log measurements on their smartphones. The professional version connects to as many as six instruments, has a built-in duct traverse workflow that supports Equal Area and log-Tchebycheff test methods, and supports an optional SD card for unattended data-logging applications.
