When the application calls for cleaning small inside diameters, EXAIR has the solution. Its new Model 1004SS M4 NPT Back Blow Air Nozzle has been designed to deliver the smallest, most effective airflow to small pipe or hose inside diameters, channels, bores, holes, internal threads and other internal part features that require the removal of debris and liquids.

An effective design

The back blow nozzle has an array of holes designed to provide a forceful 360-degree airflow, which is effective on diameters up to 25.4 millimetres (one inch). This airflow clears out coolant, chips and light oils from machining processes. However, the nozzle is designed in such a way that prevents the blowing of chips further into a part, tube or pipe. Its design also eliminates any safety hazard created by blowing debris out the far end of a pipe or tube.

Model 1004SS has a small profile, and an M4 x 0.5 thread, enabling it to fit inside openings as small as 6.3 millimetres (¼ inches). It is constructed of type 316 stainless steel to provide durability and superior resistance to corrosion.

Safety details

Since airflow is directed back toward the operator, personal protective equipment is recommended. Chip shields to protect the operator from exiting debris are available. Extension pipes are stocked in six, 12, 24 and 36 inches to provide necessary reach for cleaning out longer tube and pipe diameters.

In addition, sound level is low at 80 dBA, and meets OSHA noise requirement 29 CFR 1910.95(a). This unit is also CE compliant.

Additional models

EXAIR also carries back blow nozzles for larger pipe diameters. The 1006SS model works best with pipe inside diameters from 22 to 102 millimetres (⅞ to four inches), while Model 1008SS is best suited for inside diameters ranging from 51 to 406 millimetres (two to 16 inches).

Back blow air nozzles are just one part of the large array of air nozzles available from EXAIR.
