industrial moisture gauges

The NDC TM710e moisture gauge and InfraLab analyzer are suitable for marijuana applications.

One of the manufacturers whose industrial equipment Firing Industries supplies in Canada is NDC Technologies, a leading developer of measurement and control instruments. This includes its TM710e industrial moisture gauges, which have been engineered specifically for the tobacco and marijuana industries, and the InfraLab analyzer.

As Canada is set to legalize recreational marijuana on Oct. 17, these industrial moisture gauges by NDC should come in very handy in the cannabis sector.

Precise product and performance requirements

Marijuana processing is an application with very precise product and performance requirements. NDC knows that generic moisture meters for food products are insufficient for marijuana because of inherent natural variations. As NDC’s eighth generation of tobacco analyzers, the no-compromise TM710e line is designed to work for moisture levels from very low to 60 per cent, while the InfraLab is compatible with various products.

Firing Industries offers these industrial moisture gauges in two configurations: Tobacco Moisture Gauges, built to measure moisture levels, and Multi-Component Tobacco Gauges, capable of measuring nicotine and sugar. Optional integrated or remote temperature measurement is available with both. The TM710e line also has Ethernet communications compatibility and communicates through all common Fieldbus protocols, amounting to full process integration capability.

NDC also offers the InfraLab e-Series At-Line Tobacco Analyzer for fast, accurate single- or multi-component measurement. Available in moisture-only and multi-component versions, the InfraLab has a five-second measurement period per marijuana sample, making it more convenient and efficient than the standard gravimetric testing oven and traditional continuous-flow methods.

The InfraLab has been designed to be employed anywhere in the marijuana-manufacturing process as part of quality control. In complementing the TM710e, this instrument offers non-skilled access to complex measurement applications with little or no need for sample preparation. The InfraLab is compatible with Ethernet connectivity to management information systems, LIMS networks, or personal computers to transmit data instantly.

Industry may be changing as laws and regulations do, but NDC equipment will continue to be useful for a variety of new and old applications. Trust NDC for the right marijuana-processing solutions.
