Four types of fan wheels are available.

Dust collectors have remained the top specialty of N.R. Murphy Limited since 1943, but the manufacturer’s portfolio stretches further. For example, the company offers a selection of exhaust fans that make it easier and safer for workers to breathe. These devices are available with four types of fan wheels.

Each of these wheels has been designed for a specific level of air or material handling for the relevant exhaust-fan accessories.

Manufactured according to precise specifications

These exhaust-fan wheels range from 12¼ to 64-3/8 inches in diameter, from 3.21 to 16.85 feet in circumference, and from seven to 37 inches in inlet diameter. Outlet areas run from 0.265 to 7.41 square feet, while inlet areas go from 0.258 to 7.27 square feet. Aiming for the highest standards, N.R. Murphy builds its own blades for wheels on exhaust fans, all manufactured according to precise specifications.
The company offers the following exhaust-fan wheel series:

  • EH. An open wheel for almost any material-handling need, manufactured from extra-heavy steel plates to resist high shock and abrasion in tasks with high material volumes. Recommended for handling air containing small wood blocks, knots, or paper trims with nose cones in their designs.
  • EHL. With a design similar to the EH wheel’s, but for standard material-handling requirements.
  • EM-1. Also similar to EH, but slightly more efficient, with a back plate and individual blade supports for extra rigidity and strength. The plate prevents wood shavings and long, fibrous, or stringy material from wrapping around the blades. Recommended for sawdust chips and similar items.
  • EA-1. The most efficient option, designed to withstand extreme shock and abrasion with high material volumes. Backward-inclined, radial-tipped design with a coned shroud and back plate for added rigidity, plus a controlled inlet clearance to guide airflow. Recommended for relatively clean air and pulling air through filters and separators, but not for material.

Available in various sizes and capacities, N.R. Murphy exhaust fans have fan arrangements for virtually any tasks. All fans are digitally balanced for perfect function, with optional construction for heavy abrasive materials and spark resistance.
