Camille Bauer manufactures KINAX heavy-duty angular position transducers.

Camille Bauer Metrawatt AG has logged more than 75 years as an international provider of test and measurement instrumentation. Its innovative products are available to Canadian businesses through Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. – including such devices as signal conditioners, temperature transmitters, and electrical power measurement. Another product family available from the supplier: position transducers.

Mod-Tronic offers six distinct categories of position transducers under the KINAX brand, each of which offers its own range of benefits for industrial users.

Programmable, compact, heavy-duty, and more

Customers can choose from the following KINAX groups available from Mod-Tronic:

• Programmable angular position transmitters. The KINAX 2W2 series offers digital output via RS-232 and 4-20 mA analog output for direct display. The compact, rugged, non-contact design significantly reduces wear, and the potentiometer feedback system can be replaced with a single component.
• Compact angular position transducers. KINAX 3W2 devices offer a non-contact, vibration-resistant technology that outlasts potentiometers. Recommended for valve position, cutting blade angle, and water cannon position. Any angle from ten to 270 degrees is possible, with up to 60 per cent adjustability.
• Heavy-duty angular position transducers. Mod-Tronic offers two KINAX series – WT-707 (factory-ranged) and WT-717 (programmable). Both kinds have impact- and vibration-resistant IP67 housing, dual cable glands, and high-load-rated 19-millimetre input shafts. Perfect for various power-generation, marine, and general manufacturing applications and a direct substitute for KINAX 7W1.
• Linear position transducers. The new KINAX WT-720 series consists of programmable transducers with a linear or “V” output. Other features include 4-20 mA analog output, independently programmable zero and span, IP67 housing, and cable gland standard (M12-4 connector optional).
• Transmitters with power over Ethernet. Another new series, the KINAX HW730, with Interface Modbus/TCP. Other features: robust hollow shafts for angular position; high level of mechanical and electrical safety; easy installation and quick commissioning; and waterproof/dustproof housing.
• Inclination transducers. Four different variations of this product. Common advantages include robust aluminum housings, oil-damped pendulums, and no mechanical stops. The KINAX N702-INOX HART has a high mechanical strength and hermetically sealed, stainless steel housing that are ideal for challenging work environments.
