stator winding RTDs

MINCO manufactures four kinds of stator winding RTDs.

No supplier offers a greater range of MINCO instrumentation than Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. does. The company is the world’s largest MINCO stocking distributor, offering a wide variety of the manufacturer’s temperature sensors and more. This includes four models of MINCO stator winding RTDs and thermocouples, which users install between stator windings for constant protection of motors and generators. Mod-Tronic holds an extensive stock inventory of these products for any urgent requirements.

Dimensions to fit any machine

The lineup of stator winding instruments includes ATEX-approved RTDs and corona-resistant RTDs, with Class F or H single- and dual-element RTD and thermocouple elements available. Common features include one-, three-, eight, and 12-channel temperature monitors to complete the systems and dimensions that can be machined to fit any equipment precisely.

Other advantages of these stator winding thermocouples and RTDs: sealed edges and leadwire exit, to protect the sensor during vacuum impregnation processes; rugged construction, with firmly anchored leadwires and strain relief in the elements to prevent breakage; routed grooves, to shelter the elements for protection from pressure; non-inductive winding, for reliable measurements in environments with strong magnetic fields; and elements that extend in length to measure average temperatures.

Mod-Tronic carries the following four models of stator winding thermocouples and detectors:

  • Stator winding sensors. Flat, laminated “stick” RTDs that fit in slots between stator windings to monitor temperature increase and prevent overheating. Unlike on-off devices, these devices offer constant sensing for earlier warning without unnecessary trip-outs. Stator winding thermocouples can be substituted in applications that require thermocouple input.
  • Dual-element stator winding RTDs. For extra protection for motors and generators: the second element serves as a backup in case of damage, and one element can be used for input to a temperature display at the machine, with the other used for control-room monitoring.
  • CSA-, ATEX-, IECEx-approved stator winding RTDs. Suitable for winding slots to detect high temperatures before insulation damage occurs. Designed for hazardous areas with flammable gas.
  • Corona-resistant stator winding RTDs. Built specifically for variable-frequency drives for AC motors, with no expensive reactors or filters required.
