The three styles of MOCAP plugs

The enormous portfolio of industrial protective solutions available from MOCAP is unmatched by any other North American manufacturer. Another popular offering in this lineup is three kinds of protective plugs, recommended for many user needs.

These series of plugs – dip-moulded vinyl plastic, injection-moulded plastic, or rubber-moulded – can meet a wide spectrum of protective, finishing, and masking requirements.

For a finished quality appearance

This broad selection includes injection-moulded plugs, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plug caps, sheet-metal plugs, tube-end plugs, vinyl dip-moulded shipping plugs, high-temperature masking plugs, and EPDM and silicone rubber masking plugs. All of these options are ideal for product protection during assembly, conversion, or shipping applications. MOCAP recommends them for masking against debris, painting, spraying, or powder coating. These plugs also help to add a finished quality appearance to tubing or sheet-metal components.

MOCAP offers the following three basic categories of protective plugs:

• Friction-fit plugs – designed by MOCAP to protect threads and fittings from moisture, contamination, or damage during production, shipping, and storage phases. The examples include general-purpose plugs, sheet-metal hold plugs, tube plugs, tapered plugs for tubing, barrel plugs, and flexible vinyl plugs.
• Tapered plugs – including tapered plug caps, wide-flange plug caps (both thick and extra-thick available), centre pull plugs, paper tapered plugs, EPDM tapered plugs, and silicone tapered plugs.
• Threaded plugs – 16 models of red plugs available, all manufactured in a broad range of styles and materials. Designed to fit a wide variety of metric and standard threads, as well as different kinds of threaded ports, fittings, and assemblies. Among the examples are general-purpose, sealing, hex-socket, square-head, universal, and push-in plugs.

There are hundreds of sizes, shapes, and designs of polyethylene injection-moulded plugs available from the MOCAP lineup, all of them stocked and ready to ship. Vinyl dip-moulded plastic plugs are available in standard flexible PVC material for shipping and protection use, with high-temperature models for masking. EPDM and silicone rubber plugs suit paint, powder-coating, and spray-masking applications, including tapered plugs, washer plugs, and pull plugs.
